We welcome trained divers of whatever level because it saves us a lot of work!
The first thing you need to do is let our Diving or Training Officer see your logs or tell us what you’ve done.
Obviously logs are more reassuring - divers have been known to exaggerate!
Also, tell us what gear you have or are going to get,
Then we’ll tailor things to suit YOU. If you’re already the equivalent of SAA Club Diver (eg SSAC Sport, PADI Rescue etc) you are free to dive with someone of an equivalent or higher level. Most times all you’ll need is your qualification ‘topped up’.
You may decide though to do the whole course so you know you haven’t missed out. Many qualifications have been obtained so quickly that the basic knowledge and understanding just isn’t there. For example, have you been taught proper snorkeling? Could you pass our swimming assessment? What do know about EAR & CPR? Do you even know what they are!?
On the other hand you may be a highly experienced diver with hundreds of logged dives. You might even be an instructor for one of the agencies. Whatever the case you are very welcome to join, you will have experience that WE can learn from, like new dive sites or diving techniques, contacts etc.
Why C-Divers?
Put simply: we dive more often and with more fun and choice than most clubs.
In fact most clubs are rather boring with few outings, few members, and little opportunity to advance your chosen sport.
Each year you’ll have the opportunity to log over 100 dives!
As a C-Diver member you’ll have more opportunity to do loads of advanced courses, even start teaching if you want.
And cost?
There’s a one-off £40
(for trained divers to Advanced Open Water or Club Diver level)
plus £8/month.
